There is definitely not much of a “wow” factor to this enhancement. Other than user controls, it appears as if all they’ve done – from a commercial perspective – is offer the ability to better brand tweets by adding logos.
You’d think that something that was born out of innovation and creativity would be able to tap into some of that creative juice and make its first step towards overt commercialization a little grander, wouldn’t you?
Perhaps it’s a function of the fact that they have been under pressure to provide some insight into how, exactly, Twitter will monetize the phenomenon that it is – reckoning that doing something is better than doing nothing.
