Don’t underestimate the Apple iPad. Apple has a track record of being reliable and building a cult of personality around their products. I wouldn’t be too surprised if it is its own killer app!

As always there has been a mixed reaction to the new launch. Some reviewers are saying we are seeing nothing new and it is a product that has been designed to solve a problem we do not have. Others are saying it is the best new toy on the market. I believe it will sell very well and will revolutionise the way we educate ourselves going forward. Personally I think this si the beggining of a step change in how we use the web. The ipad has lots of faults but so did the iphone and look how that has moved us on.

Many people think it offers nothing new. But we said that with the iphone (remember the faithful Blackberry).

I think it will eventually change how we consume books and print media in general.

I’ll be getting one anyway!

I think that they are really going to capitalize on the explosion of the mobile web. Although smartphones will still have the iPad beat in terms of battery power – for now – I think the functionality makes it a game changer.

I’ve just watched the Apple presentation and I’m not entirely convinced that this will be a massive hit. I think it’s a device that not many of us really

need and that’s one of the reasons that such devices have never really taken off in the past. Despite this, I’m sure that if anyone can turn it into a

success then Apple can. The price didn’t seen too bad though, but I think this is probably down to the lack of a proper MacBook type OS on the machine rather than what appears to be a cut down version.
